The Beautiful Life

Many people glamourize “The Beautiful Life”. They drive the nicest cars, buy the trendiest clothes, and purchase the most expensive jewelry. The latest diamonds and gadgets of technology are the focal points of worldly success and social status. The visual display that the media brings to the forefront makes young and mid-America salivate at the idea of “The Beautiful Life”. In order to get “The Beautiful Life,” people lie, steal, envy, stab eachother in the back and become hateful to those who are closer than them in achieving that life. However, money and all the things money can provide can not cover up what’s going on inside.

Although your life may look glamourous & the celebrities you see in the media (Rappers, Singers, Professional Athletes, Actors, Actresses, etc) seem to have it all.
However, that is not always the case. Some recent names in the media that have the “Beautiful Life” with inner problems that burst it’s way into the media are that of Lindsey Lohan (drug problem), The Dream (infidelity), Charlie Sheen (abuser), Montana Fishburne (attachment disorder), Rhianna (abuse victim), Chris Brown (abuser), Mel Gibson (abuser), OJ Simpson (abuser/murderer to some), Dennis Rodman (alcoholic), Bruce Leroy (abuser cleared of crimes), and the list goes on. I mention these names simply to show a variety of personal issues that checks and dollar bills can not fix.

Sometimes we are faced with situations that we have no control over. Our best option is to face the problem (storm) head on with faith in God that He will help us through. What’s important to know is that God blesses you when you’re on the right track, and he is patient while you make mistakes. As humans, it’s okay to want nice things. It’s okay to strive for better. However, in doing so, please do not loose track of taking care of your heart, mind, and soul. Keeping a healthy balance of self-importance is your key to happiness, not all that ***glisens. You know the saying, “all that glisens isn’t gold”, well, the “Beautiful Life” is just shining to us onlookers because we can’t see the pain that is being covered in the nicest cars, most expensive jewelry and the latest style of clothes.

“The Beautiful Life” to “The Beautiful You” Challenge:
I urge you to take a look at yourself, unveil your flaws, your fears, and your goals. Assess yourself: your flaws and how you can improve them, your fears and how you can conquer them, and your goals and how you can achieve them. If what you are doing today isn’t improving all those facets of your life, make minor changes. Each day, continue those minor changes and add on new improvements. In no time, you will have shaken bad habits and generated positive, effective changes into the “Beautiful You”. There will be people who remember the old you, and they might put you down verbally amongst your peers. Open your eyes and see that because those who do that do not want to see you progress for lack of interest in improving themselves. Keep changing and climb higher. The caliber of people you begin associating with should change as well as you lift yourself to higher levels of self- importance, improvement, and balance. Make the “Beautiful Life” the “Beautiful You”.
